DeepSeek V4 price pressure shows AI features need cost-aware architecture
SCMP reported on 8 June 2026 that DeepSeek V4’s low-cost model pricing is forcing a new round of API price cuts among Chinese AI developers and cloud providers. The report says rivals are rethinking monetisation as cheaper model access changes the economics of application development.
For Bubbll, this is a practical product-design signal. Chat, CRM and commerce AI features should not assume one fixed model or one fixed price curve. A resilient AI stack needs model routing, per-feature budgets, clear fallback behaviour and analytics that show whether each AI action creates enough value to justify its cost.
Thai SMEs will not care which model vendor wins a price war; they will care whether AI answers are fast, useful and affordable. Building cost controls into the workflow is how AI becomes an operating feature rather than a surprise bill.
