OpenAI’s super-app discussion keeps chat at the center of product strategy
TechCrunch reported on 7 June 2026 that OpenAI is still working through ideas around a broader “super app” direction, including discussion that traditional chat interfaces may not be enough on their own. The important point for product builders is that the interface is evolving from conversation toward action.
For Bubbll, this validates the direction of combining chat identity with commerce, CRM and operations. A useful chat product is not only a message box; it needs memory of customer context, permissioned actions, handoff to humans and links into booking, purchase, delivery and support workflows.
The phrase “chat is dead” is best read as a warning against shallow chatbots. Chat remains powerful when it becomes the front door to real tasks, measurable outcomes and trusted relationships.
